Meta is seeking talented network engineers to join our Enterprise network engineering team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, deploy and manage Meta's global enterprise network using state-of-the-art platforms. Enterprise Network Engineer Responsibilities


  • Contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing management of Meta's enterprise network

  • Partner with other engineering teams to automate processes, plan capacities, and evolve network architectures

  • Design, implement and maintain robust systems such as monitoring, analysis, management, and alerting tools to optimize network performance

  • Optimize the performance of diverse systems and applications in a heterogeneous environment to ensure seamless integration

  • Work closely with information security and automation teams to integrate security enhancements and continuously enhance the security posture

  • Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events, reducing operational complexity

  • As part of your team, you will participate in an on-call rotation and serve as an escalation point for incidents related to our products


Minimum Qualifications


  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience

  • Proven track record of designing large-scale networks

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Layer 2 protocols and enhancements (LACP, L2 ECMP, 802.1d/w/s, 802.1x)

  • In-depth knowledge of Layer 3 protocols (IPv4/v6, TCP, UDP) and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP, MPLS) with at least 1+ year of experience

  • Proficiency in stateful firewalls, non-stateful filtering and packet inspection with 1+ year of experience

  • Programming or scripting expertise to automate processes and build tools

  • Skilled in creating and maintaining robust monitoring and alerting systems for production environments to ensure optimal network performance and rapid issue resolution

  • Proven communication skills

  • Experience to work independently in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision


Preferred Qualifications


  • Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • VPN Technologies (IPSec, SSL/TLS, WireGuard)

  • Wireless Networking Protocols and Access Point Management

  • Overlay Networks (VXLAN, NSX)

  • Streaming Telemetry (gNMI, OpenConfig)

$107,000/year to $161,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
