Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Entry Level Water Resources Engineer to be based in the Germantown, Maryland or Arlington, Virginia office to join AECOM's Water market.

This position is expected to begin in May 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resources projects.
  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop reports and visual aids.
  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to conduct engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision of project management and/or an experienced engineer.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Due to the nature of the work and federal client requirements, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification (or pursuing).
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses utilizing industry software (e.g., ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS).

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $64,0000 - $90,000. Please note that this role can be based anywhere in the United States and compensation data will vary in each location, including higher or lower than the stated range.
