Description

EVS Technician I, performs cleaning and service duties necessary to maintain the Hospital in an orderly, safe, sanitary, and attractive condition. This position is primarily responsible for heavy housekeeping duties in patient care and non-patient care areas.

  • Needs to be flexible in scheduling and may also work with Laundry.
  • Perform a variety of assigned routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to assigned areas in a timely manner. Areas will routinely include but are not limited to patient rooms, patient care areas, office areas, public areas, bathrooms, water fountains, etc. Perform complete patient room discharge cleaning when a patient room has been vacated. Responsible for after care clean up post maintenance visit. Set up new hospital areas.
  • Adhere to hospital Infection Prevention practices and standards, including bio-hazard waste handling, hand washing techniques, and standard or isolated precautions. Exercise the highest level of care in using chemicals or hazardous materials; follow guidelines and precautions on MSD sheets.
  • Handles trash and bio-hazardous waste and chemicals safely and according to department policies and procedures.
  • Empty and transport soiled linen. Empty trash containers and removes all trash ensuring receptacles are odor free.
  • Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors and provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain a clean and neat cart, station, closet, and equipment storage areas. Keep utility carts stocked at all times.
  • Clean and return all equipment after use.
  • Maintains a good rapport with fellow associates, physicians, and staff.


Requirements

Shift: 2p-10:30p

  • Must be able to speak, read and write proficiently in order to understand and appropriately handle instructions and directions on labels on products used in department.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Must be able to speak, read and write proficiently in English.
  • Commercial cleaning experience in commercial buildings is preferred.


Other :

  • Must maintain an active driver's license.
  • Must maintain a personal vehicle in operational order for travel in varying weather conditions at varying times .
  • Must maintain automobile/vehicle liability insurance coverage.
  • Must maintain current proof of insurance and current driver's license in personnel file at all times.
