The role you'll contribute:

The Epic Revenue Cycle Director serves AdventHealth through effective management and leadership of IT initiatives and teams supporting AdventHealth Revenue Cycle strategies. Under moderate supervision of the VP of Revenue and Administrative systems or an Executive Director, the Epic Revenue Cycle Director coaches, mentors and leads staff and departmental management in the daily operations of assigned areas. In partnership with other AdventHealth IT services, this role engages with stakeholders in the planning, design, and execution of new projects and ensures effective application support, including application stability and quality in accordance with AIT governance models and AdventHealth policies. The relationship leader for assigned areas, is the point of escalation for executive stakeholders and employees, and serves as the liaison between assigned areas and AdventHealth IT. This role represents AIT as a facilitator or member of various governance committees in support of AdventHealth facilities Revenue Cycle(s). The position is accountable for driving and supporting the organization's IT Revenue and Administrative systems education, engagement, implementation, support and optimization. These technologies include, but are not limited to Billing Systems, Workforce Management, Length of Stay Management, Patient Access and Scheduling, Medical Records Coding, Care Management, Charge Services, Contract Management, Physician Credentialing and Privileging and EDI infrastructure in support of automating communication with our partners.

• Performs with very little help and at an advanced level, management responsibilities including communication of job responsibilities to staff, planning, monitoring, conducting appraisals, conducting discipline and enforcing policies and procedures.

• Conducts with very little help and at an advanced level, recruiting, selection, orientation, development and supervision of staff to include development of on-going training plans and conducting of 90 day and annual reviews.

• Implements and maintains with very little help and at an advanced level, performance measurement processes like KPIs, executive communication and service delivery standards tracking in order to assess information systems results by consistently measuring and periodically auditing systems. Analyze and make recommendations to leadership to improve operations.

• Oversees projects with very little help and at an advanced level, to include the planning, design, execution and on-going monitoring of activities to ensure successful completion and meeting of deadlines.

• Oversee with very little help and at an advanced level, the assessment, selection, and implementation of new IT solutions and on-going daily maintenance and production support (within a 7X24X365- on-call environment) of software solutions which may include (but not limited to): hospital based billing systems, workforce management, scheduling, length of stay management, patient access, medical records and coding, and physician credentialing and privileging and patient throughput.

• Leads with very little help and at an advanced level, the coordination, prioritization and assignment of customer requests. Solving complex customer problems in support of all levels of executive leadership within the AdventHealth central support organization, executive customers, and all levels of customers as needed.

• Enhances with very little help and at an advanced level, information systems by identifying information systems technology opportunities, working closely with software vendors, and developing innovative application strategies and roadmaps.

• Meets with very little help and at an advanced level, financial objectives by determining service level required, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

• Accountable to, with very little help and at an advanced level, partner with legal, IT security, and compliance to negotiate and ensure necessary legal agreements related to data sharing, vendor contracts and patient data are in compliance with AdventHealth policies and procedures and government laws and regulations.

• Works closely with all AIT leaders when researching, planning, building, and implementing approved projects. Oversees the delivery of solutions and appropriately manages and escalates risks and issues.

• Promotes cross training and teamwork across AIT, our organization, and our partners.

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare and/or computer science or business administration, with related healthcare experience

• 7 years' experience with IT, revenue cycle, financial or clinical systems support.

• 7 years' experience with leading teams and projects.

• 2 years' experience with IT Strategic Planning and Senior Executive Interaction.

• Yearly participation in ongoing education either formal or through conferences, active professional organization participation, or journal presentations.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• Maintenance of current licensure or certification related to area of specialty (RN, CRCE, AHIMA, HFMA, ACHE, etc.)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Advanced knowledge of HL7 and API concepts and operating within an Integrated HealthCare applications environment.

• Demonstrated advanced mentoring/training experience.

• Advanced ability to comprehend complex technical and logic flows.

• Advanced knowledge of database principles and concepts.

• Advanced knowledge of Systems Architecture, Application Design Considerations and Internet Concepts.

• Advanced ability to manage multiple tasks within deadline constraints.

• Read and comprehend written instructions and procedures at an undergraduate college level.

• Models, coaches and implements customer improvement initiatives

• Able to operate in a 24x7x365 support model with periodic on call.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to include written, oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to work as a team Manager/Leader while leading other team leaders.
