DESCRIPTION OF WORK

An Equipment Operator A will operate equipment and trucks with a gross vehicle weight up to 32,000 pounds. You will use vans, buses, and single-chassis trucks to transport consumers, staff, and materials, both on and off hospital grounds. You will also perform construction work, maintenance work, and equipment safety checks.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work every 3rd or 4th weekend.
  • Overtime as needed, subject to emergency call-in.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Conditions of Employment:
  • This position requires the selected candidate to obtain a Commonwealth Driver's License (CDL) within the probationary period.
Other Requirements:

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
