Equipment Operator III (Logistics)

General Statement of Duties

This vacancy is open until filled. Serves as a lead worker, under the supervision of labor foreman. Experience in the safe and efficient operation of heavy automotive equipment. Incumbent may service and make minor repairs to equipment.

Essential Duties

• Serve as a lead worker with the ability to work and supervise a crew;

• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, straight trucks and dump trucks;

• Be responsible for the pickup of furniture and surplus items from schools and the relocation to the surplus warehouse;

• Be responsible for equipment moves and asset transfers between facilities;

• Must have a CDL Class A License and be able to operate a tractor trailer;

• Must be able to coordinate projects with Principals, School Staff and Central Office Personnel;

• Perform overtime work as needed;

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years' experience operating heavy automotive equipment including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.

• Valid Commercial Driver's License with a Class A endorsement issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia

• Good physical condition required with the ability to perform repetitive activities, such as heavy lifting, bending, driving and standing. Also the ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

• A knowledge of standard tools and practices used in logistics.
