Position Description

Job Summary:As an Equipment Operator, you'll be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment used in road, highway, parking lot construction, and plant operations. Your expertise will contribute to the construction, maintenance, and repair of crucial infrastructure projects. Safety, adherence to protocols, and precision in equipment operation are paramount for success in this role.

Essential Functions:1. Focused. Operate heavy equipment, including asphalt pavers, to facilitate road, site, or highway construction, paving, and plant operations.2. Safety always wins. Ensure strict adherence to company and OSHA safety procedures, promptly reporting any issues to supervisors or relevant personnel.3. Committed to serve. Follow daily procedures and protocols outlined in job orientations and trainings to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards.4. Ownership and caring. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, promptly reporting defects or required repairs to supervisors, and ensuring equipment cleanliness.5. Dedication. Assist in the training of lower-level employees, providing guidance on maintenance and repair duties as needed.6. Mastery. Interpret construction specifications or blueprints to execute tasks accurately and efficiently.7. Obligated. Demonstrate dependable attendance and consistency in meeting work schedules.

Position Requirements

Requirements, Education and Experience:1. OSHA-10 Certification is mandatory.2. Possess a high level of coordination and spatial awareness.3. Minimum of five years of experience operating heavy equipment, with at least two years specifically in heavy/highway construction preferred.4. Proficient in verbal and written English communication.5. Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Travel:

Position may require up to 100% travel by personal vehicle to project locations throughout the state of New York and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100lbs or more. This position works outdoors in most types of weather including high heat, and inclement weather. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. This position requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
