Summary
The Office of Reservations and Events provides logistics and service support for events and meetings taking place throughout the University of Missouri campus seven days a week. This support includes setting up rooms, providing service to events, and assisting with technology as needed.

The Manager of Event Operations will plan for, and support events managed by the Office of Reservations & Events. This position directly oversees the service for events in the Reynolds Alumni Center, Bond Life Sciences Building, Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health Building, the Museum of Art and Archeology, several outdoor spaces, and other locations as needed.

The ability to plan, foresee problems, and handle complex logistics is critical to the position. Office time planning for and "on the floor" direct event support is expected. Additionally, this position will provide expertise in setting up and operating advanced theatrical/event lighting, audio, and video.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain planning documents to coordinate use of equipment, vehicles, and staffing.
  • Prepare operations planning notes to inform crews of their per event and daily activities.
  • Work with other planners and coordinators to clarify and expand on event needs.
  • Assess, maintain, and add to the equipment inventory for assigned buildings and general campus.
  • Prepare and process weekly linen orders.
  • Directly supervise crews and execute event setups and operations.
  • Along with other staff members act as operations Lead to monitor and respond to requests for help via radio, chat, text, or phone call. A mobile phone is provided to the lead while on shift.
  • Work on additional projects as assigned.
  • Maintain fleet of service vehicles.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Reports to the Associate Director for Reservations & Events.

Shift

Weekly schedule will vary with event needs and can include nights and weekends, when events schedule is light: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EMS Reservation Software
More than 2 years' experience in event logistics

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $51,875 - $58,000

Grade: GGS-9E
