Description

  • Work closely and collaborate with district leaders and identified school principals and their leadership teams to increase and accelerate the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the instructional service delivery system for students; so as to significantly increase student achievement across all student subgroups, close the achievement gap and meet state accountability and district goal targets.
  • Extensive knowledge of effective principles and practices of management.
  • Thorough knowledge of instructional theory and practice, including the assessment of instruction.
  • Knowledge of federal and state legislation and regulations that apply to areas of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of organizational theory and its application in large school districts, including familiarity with "systems thinking" and the ability to analyze organizational situations from structural, human resource, political and symbolic frames.
  • Knowledge of the functions and operations of a large public school district.
  • Knowledge of K-12 curriculums, school-centered decision-making and the change process in organizations.
  • Knowledge of school building operations, needs and concerns.

  • Develop systemic approach to provide professional development for campus instructional coaches, to include comprehensive design such as conferences, long-term coaching development, and curriculum.
  • Provide academic coordinators and facilitators with the necessary tools to support rigor in the classrooms, tools to "coach coaches" and professional development on district identified curriculum needs.
  • Assist with the coordination of observations and coaching conversations around the needs of campuses. Ensure academic facilitators provide mentoring to new and struggling coaches by providing training in good, first instruction-create a school leadership institute for designated personnel.
  • Ensure compliance of assigned schools with all pertinent and applicable federal, state and local policies, procedures, regulations and requirements, providing training as needed to ensure both procedural and performance compliance.


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required from an accredited university in educational administration or other areas related to responsibilities (U.S.A. equivalency); Three (3) years of directly related educational experience.
  • Required Texas Principal Certification.
