The role you'll contribute:

The Executive Director of Pharmacy is responsible for oversight of clinical, operational and financial performance for the AdventHealth's mail order pharmacies and home delivery program (a/k/a Rx Plus and Expedien Rx pharmacies). This position is accountable for the review, creation and implementation of policies and procedures and ensures scopes of practice are established to meet federal and state laws and accreditation body requirements. The Executive Director oversees the collection and reporting of metrics for the prescription drug benefit, pharmacy operational and financial performance to various stakeholders. Surveys the industry landscape to identify trends and opportunities. Implements strategic plans and serves as a subject matter expert to executives.

  • Leads overall operations and makes major decision affecting AdventHealth's pharmacy initiatives.
  • Responsible for initiatives related to attracting talent, developing staff, and implementing an effective performance management process.
  • Ensures proper licensure is maintained in order to provide services in all required states.
  • Advises leadership on program performance and provides direction for modification in plans to address prevailing business conditions when necessary.
  • Responsible for understanding the specialty medication market, including obtaining and maintaining accreditations to allow access to limited distribution networks provided by manufacturers and payors.
  • Continuously assesses the healthcare environment and pharmacy trends to identify new business opportunities and ways to improve efficiency.
  • Ensures effective operation of the prescription drug portion of the Workers Compensation program.
  • Continuously works to improve the patient experience when using AdventHealth home delivery pharmacies
  • Accountable for the development and meeting the annual operating and capital budgets (including revenue, supply and labor expenses) for both pharmacies.
  • Identifies and engages stakeholders in strategic decision making process.
  • Maintain key vendor and customer relationships, including but not limited to pharmacy benefit managers, third-party administrators, manufacturers, insurers, GPO's, and consultants
  • Responsible for the integrity of patient sensitive material included in prescription orders, ensuring no violation of patient protected health information.


Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
  • A graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor's of Science Pharmacy degree
  • 2-5 years as a Director of Pharmacy
  • Acted as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Manager of retail or hospital pharmacy for 2-3 years


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
  • Completion of a post-graduate residency in community pharmacy or pharmacy administration
  • Experience in a home delivery or specialty pharmacy
  • A post graduate degree MS or MBA in healthcare


LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
  • Licensed in the State of Florida and one other state to practice Pharmacy . Must be Current, Unrestricted and in Good Standing in both states
  • Must complete state required bi-annual continuing education requirements for licensure
