Description

The Executive Director is the key administrator of the Center. The Executive Director oversees the planning and administration of the Center according to the strategic direction set by leadership of the Center.
  1. Directs the strategic planning activities for a research center. Establishes priorities in coordination with the Leadership, monitors progress, and analyzes outcomes.
  2. Cultivates, solicits and engages key external stakeholders to advance the centers strategic priorities, including identifying stakeholders to serve on key task forces.
  3. Revises, updates and implements the centers annual strategic plan and provides guidance to center faculty and leadership.
  4. Fosters and enhances relationships with stakeholders to increase awareness of the centers vision, mission, goals and community impact.
  5. Identifies and engages key external stakeholders and may serve on or interface with development or advisory committees or a Board of Directors to advance the centers strategic priorities in research, education, and technology transfer.
  6. Assists with pursuing federal, state, local and industry funding as appropriate to advance the centers mission.
  7. Establishes and maintains strong partnerships, with entities in order to create and implement innovative marketing and communication strategies.
  8. Administers special events, marketing and media relations for the strategic priorities, and participates in other advancement activities as needed.
  9. Serves as part of the scientific team as necessary to complete the centers objectives.
  10. Performs other job-related duties as required

Qualifications

Bachelors and 7 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

10-15 years of experience in Research Administration or Finance in Higher Education
