Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all buildings and equipment within the FSU Libraries are in good operating condition.
  • Perform regular inspections of library facilities, grounds, fixtures, machines, and appliances.
  • Report any issues or problems to the supervisor.
  • Handle minor installations and repairs as needed.
  • Escalate complex or unusual problems to the supervisor.
  • Manage the internal ticketing system.
  • Run and provide biweekly reports on facility-related activities.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and facilities personnel to address facility-related challenges.
  • Identify areas where maintenance or repair work is needed and promptly report issues.
  • Follow up to ensure that repair tasks are completed satisfactorily.
  • Documents processes using the Libraries Wiki, LibDrive, and other resources.
  • Monitor building services to ensure that facilities remain orderly and clean.
  • Coordinate routine pick-up and transport of recycled materials.
  • Facilitate fleet maintenance appointments.
  • Assist with event set up and break down for libraries events.
  • Act as the safety coordinator for the libraries.
  • Facilitate safety checks and serve as the main point of contact for safety-related matters.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years. Technical or vocational degree may substitute for experience.
  • A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

  • Ability to meet physical requirements as determined by position.
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment, and materials used in area of work.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.

Anticipated Salary Range
