Facilities Fire Protection Engineer

As a Fire Protection Engineer at Gigafactory Texas, you will be responsible for driving innovation and a first principles mindset, executing improvements, promoting collaboration between all stakeholders, developing programs and process to ensure the highest level of safety and quality for the site.


Responsibilities

• Ensure all fire systems align to all local, state, and federal regulations
• Develop a comprehensive maintenance program for all fire owned fire systems
• Work with Production Shops to improve visibility of fire system operation
• Create a comprehensive system asset list for CMMS system
• Develop and steward a program to standardize commissioning and handoff of fire systems
• Develop and create Fire Protection Reports for new vehicle production lines, materials, suppression, and detection systems
• Produce RFP/RFQs documents for project scoping and pricing for OPEX/CAPEX improvements
• Develop and summit AM&M (Alternate Means & Methods) to local AHJ to help with performance-based design criteria to meet the intent of code
• Code Planning / Life Safety Reviews from Schematic Design through commissioning
• Implementation and inspections of specialty systems implementation

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of fire system management
• NICET Certifications (ITM of Water Based Systems, Special Hazards, Fire Alarm License-TX)
• Texas State FEL-A
• Texas State RME-I
