Summary

Serves as a Facility Information Support Specialist (Archibus) in the Facility Services Division, AMP-100, performing multiple and varying assignments to support development and administration of Archibus, a commercial facility management information system. Work activities are performed under the limited direction of the manager, team lead, or more experienced staff. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team, with little direction.

Duties

Applies Archibus experience and advanced knowledge to provide various technical support tasks for Archibus, which functions as the primary facility management automation tool for the Aeronautical Center, FAA Headquarters, and nine FAA regional offices. Archibus technical support includes support for users, troubleshooting and analyzing problems or issues, developing training and help documentation, and conducting user training on all business functions supported by Archibus.

Other Archibus related tasks include researching new Archibus modules and functionality, analysis and quality control of data, testing software upgrades and new functionality, writing and reviewing system documentation, developing and conducting needs assessments for system enhancements or expansion, business operations analysis, and assisting with development of Archibus solutions to support AMP business processes.

Other duties include assisting with creating, maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting Archibus AutoCAD drawings using AutoCAD and Archibus software, as well as researching, developing, and supporting GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology used in Archibus technology used in Archibus (ESRI and ArcGIS) and related facility management operations.

Related activities include development, support and maintenance of multiple KSN (Knowledge System Network) sites for AMP, which are built on Microsoft SharePoint technology, and assistance with Information Systems Support (155) research, compliance, and documentation.

Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills with team members, which include senior team personnel, automation systems team lead and customers, providing vital support to this collaborative and high efficiency team. Customer contacts are typically internal and external to AMP, including regular contacts with employees or groups of varied skill levels in the immediate organization, regional/ Center personnel, and personnel in FAA Headquarters or other external organizations.

Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion for the employee to select the most appropriate approach or to recommend new approaches. Assignments often require a review of policies and precedents, discussion of requirements and scheduling, with limited support or guidance of the manager or team lead.

Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of the manager, team lead, or more experienced professional. Refers problems to manager, team lead, or more experienced professionals that require their attention. May assist in developing and recommending solutions.

Work is reviewed periodically, typically at major milestones and at completion, for policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities.

Qualifications

TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-H (FG/GS-12) LEVEL, you must demonstrate in your application you possess at least one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to FV-G or (FG/GS 10/11) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes experience and proficiency with supporting Archibus facilities and infrastructure management system, including configuration, development, technical support, analysis, and operations, to include troubleshooting AutoCAD drawings using Archibus software; conducting user training on business functions supported by Archibus; researching new Archibus modules and functionality, testing software upgrades and new functionality, writing and reviewing system documentation; developing and conducting needs assessments for system enhancements or expansion; development of Archibus solutions to support business processes.
