Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Fiberline Process Manager for our Alabama River Cellulose (ARC) facility in Perdue Hill, AL. In this role, you will optimize Pulp Mill activities, focusing on safety, productivity, and cost reduction using PBM® Guiding Principles. You will be responsible for converting business plans into daily operations, analyzing data, and coaching the team to improve processes. You will be responsible for employee development, cross-functional collaboration and technical support. This role works closely with the Production Area Leader to optimize the pulp mill activities.

What You Will Do
  • Provide leadership rooted in the PBM® Guiding Principles to ensure a safety and environmental incident-free workplace.
  • Convert business line plans into actionable daily operating plans, optimizing production to meet departmental and mill goals.
  • Analyze data and perform data mining to understand and address operational issues, leveraging insights to drive improvements.
  • Facilitate and coach the operations team to proactively troubleshoot and improve processes using tools like PTM, Root Cause Analysis, and PGRS, with a focus on Safety, Environmental, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Development.
  • Lead, coach, and develop both salaried and hourly employees using PBM® and Operations Excellence tools to enhance their capabilities and performance.
  • Work closely with reliability engineers and maintenance planners to ensure effective execution of reliability and maintenance activities, including operational downs.
  • Provide daily technical support and expertise to area operators and maintenance personnel, assisting in the planning and execution of maintenance work.
  • Facilitate continual improvement in the Manufacturing Excellence culture by developing effective systems such as SOPs, troubleshooting documents, and other training materials.
  • Coordinate with other business units to optimize area production, engage in process evaluations, and implement best practices using various resources.
  • Help employees understand the relationship between long-term value creation and the PBM® Guiding Principles, ensuring asset improvement generates value and controls cost through effective idea evaluation and prioritization.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to dig into problems independently, take initiative, and be resourceful in finding solutions while balancing this with the ability to stop, evaluate situations, and ask for help when needed.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience working in engineering or a related field within a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
  • Experience in leading, coaching, and developing both salaried and hourly employees.
  • Experience in managing projects.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelors degree or higher in engineering, paper science, or a related field.
  • Experience working within Process Safety Management processes.
  • Pulp and Paper experience.
