A Snapshot of your Day
In the role of Field Service Engineer Specialist, you will be responsible for applying your advanced and specialized knowledge of gas turbines and auxiliary equipment, as well as quality engineering guidelines and processes in order to participate in various inspection activities. You will be expected to communicate status and lessons-learned to the back-office engineering and management on a consistent basis.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Provide combustion turbine knowledge and expertise to division management, customer management, product line management and suppliers.
  • Assist in handling spare parts, service tools, installation tools, consumables, and documentation in the project scope
  • Active participation in outage planning meetings with internal and external customers
  • Prepare and issue detailed reports regarding the implemented scope, the condition, repairs performed and recommendations for customer equipment.
  • Responsibility to comply and / or carry out the protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality).
  • Review and execute customer contract requirements.
  • Provide Gas Turbine knowledge and expertise to division management, customer management, product line management and suppliers.
  • Direct team of field service engineers, technicians and craft labor personnel at customers facilities, repair maintenance and troubleshooting of combustion turbines, steam turbines and generators at various customer sites.
  • Coordinate and manage staffing of project team at customer sites.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree is required.
  • Professional Experience (8+ years) as a Mechanical Service Engineer Specialist with gas turbines is required.
  • Fluent English writing/speaking is required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of time (sometimes required to travel on short notice).
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and following technical drawings, and written work instructions/procedures is required.
  • Must be customer focused, service oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work in team and individual environment. Must have ability to develop client relationships, display excellent listening skills, and maintain a positive demeanor.

  • Ability to handle pressure and multitask.
  • Technical Knowledge on combustion turbine and associated auxiliary systems.
  • Proficiency oral and written communication in Spanish preferred.
  • Analytical, detail oriented, well organized.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software particularly Excel, Word and Project.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
