Finance Analyst

Insight Global is looking for a Financial Data Analyst for a large financial institution in Charlotte, NC. This group is responsible for ensuring data used in key internal and regulatory reports (e.g., FFIEC 101, FRB 2052a, US/DA LCR, etc.) are timely, accurate, and properly controlled. This role will be responsible for supporting Treasury u of Traded Products data (securities, derivatives, collateral, etc), and is focused on driving strategic efforts to resolve data issues and implement data and process improvements. We are seeking candidates with strong backgrounds working within Capital Markets. Core functions are: knowing the data, sourcing the data and controlling the data. This includes analysis, design, data derivations, control design, translation of business requirements, issue management, audit/governance support and process/design documentation. In addition, job expectations include:
- Assume ownership of current CFO Data Management controls across multiple finance products. Ownership will include building, delivering and monitoring daily data controls essential for Regulatory Reporting.
- Unwind SQL and ETL layers in Oracle database to identify issues/root cause analysis, understand logic/derivations and work with internal and upstream tech partners to resolve issues in a timely fashion
- Generate daily and monthly reports on data quality breaks and data validation shifts outside of BAU thresholds
- Drives and participates in design, development and implementation of future Treasury data controls
- Data Control Governance - Ensuring process controls, data validation activities, and measurement processes remain timely and relevant

Required Skills & Experience
- Education - College or University Degree in Business / Finance preferred.
- Banking Experience -- 3-5+ prior experience in the areas of Capital Markets and/or Treasury spaces in Banking.
- Product Knowledge - General Capital Markets Product Knowledge (Derivatives, Securities, Collateral, Fixed-Income, FX, Equities, Commodities, Credit, Risk).
- SQL & Excel- Ability to define SQL scripts and run queries to pull and analyze large sets of data as well as analyze and reconcile datasets via MS Excel (Pivot Tables / Sorts etc...)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Data Management Experience -- Ideally prior experience in Data Management space. Foundational understanding of data controls and relevance within data supply chain.
