Job Title: Financial Analyst

Location: Onsite in Sacramento, CA

Salary: Starting salary is $110,000

What's the Job?
The Financial Analyst will support the company's internal and external reporting of financial positions. Financial responsibilities include such areas as Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), analysis of Profit & Loss Statements (P&L), supporting customer freight payment processes, annual budget preparation, and liaising with corporate finance on preparing monthly close and other financial tasks. This role primarily interacts and supports the group's Manager and Director, Senior Management, Account and Operations Managers (AM/OMs), enterprise finance and IT, and customer transportation/finance departments.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate cross functionally with internal and external teams to manage and improve internal billing practices, supporting the month-end close process
  • Provide recommendations and implement new processes to internal account teams in order to address customer aging and cash application issues
  • Support account teams and customers in freight pay and audit processes, serving as lead for the Finance team
  • Provide Profit & Loss (P&L) statement support and recommendations to internal customer account teams centralized Finance Team
  • Work directly with corporate finance team on month-end close processes
  • Manage implementation of and utilize reporting and analytical tools ensuring stakeholders are equipped with the necessary information to make informed business and financial decisions
  • Partner with corporate finance organization to build and enhance reporting and analytical tools
  • Implement continuous improvement across the Finance function
  • Lead ad hoc FP&A projects as requested
  • Identify and make recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to accounting, finance, or analytics
  • Minimum of 4 years' professional experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or other Finance-related roles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excel modelling and forecasting skills - lookups, assumption drivers, nested formulas
  • Experience with finance technology - i.e. ERP - Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics
  • Proficient in SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) or Beginner-Intermediate SQL skills
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean or Six Sigma tools and processes
  • Thrives working autonomously in fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and consult with multiple stakeholders at a variety of levels
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate in a matrixed organization with multiple competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team oriented and thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Deadline and timeline oriented and able to manage multiple competing priorities
