What you will do:
  • Conducts surveys of fish, water, & anglers in Ohio's inland reservoirs, rivers & streams, and the Ohio River
  • Maintains, constructs, and repairs work unit vessels, vehicles, and fish sampling equipment
  • Assists staff from other fish programs (hatcheries, Lake Erie), other Division of Wildlife Sections, and external research partners
  • Helps coordinate (preparation & oversight) contractor activities and provides guidance to work-unit seasonal staff
  • Provides information in response to public requests, presents information to various groups
  • Starting hourly pay of $20.99 /hr with multiple pay increases over your first 7 years of service, with an end hourly pay of $24.66/hr.

Qualifications

-24 months of experience conducting fish management surveys, data collection, operating fish sampling equipment & implementing fish management strategies AND valid driver's license.

-OR completion of associate core program in fisheries science to include 1 course in chemistry AND 6 months of experience conducting fish management surveys, data collection, operating fish sampling equipment & implementing fish management strategies AND valid driver's license.

-OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
