Guardian Glass is looking for a Float Process Engineer to join our team in Carleton, MI!

In this role you will focus on the glass making process and optimizing the raw materials for the float glass operation. If you're interested in working innovative, transformational projects, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

What You Will Do

• Use statistical methods, data analysis and Root Cause methodologies to improve production processes and lower cost
• Troubleshoot problems that occur during the manufacturing process of float glass
• Document standard operating procedures and training guidelines
• Establish operating parameters for existing processes, continuous improvement and proven practices
• Lead complex projects in a collaborative, team-based manufacturing environment
• Partner with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Train production operators and work collaboratively to improve processes
• Travel up to 10% (Domestic, international on rare occasion)

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience as an engineer in a manufacturing facility
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (macros)
• Experience with inventory control and raw materials management

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Ceramic Engineering
• Experience managing complex projects and implementing corrective actions
• Experience with float glass manufacturing processes
• Proven track record of cost reduction activities
