Summary of Work

The primary responsibility of this position (53-53-6379) is to provide Foster Care case management. This includes but is not limited to placement of children, case planning, referral to services, documentation, arranging and monitoring visitation, developing affidavits and attending court hearings. This position also provides backup for Child Protection Services. Individuals may be required to work non-traditional work hours, be available for consultation to families and accept rotation for on-call after-work hours emergencies. The ability to visit clients in the clients' home using their own transportation is required. The individual filling this position must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. The person will also need to complete Child Welfare Certification Training.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, nursing (bachelor's or higher), counseling, human services, human resource development (human service track), education, child development and family science or criminal justice, and two years of professional human services work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional case manager. A master's degree in one of the areas above may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement.

If no qualified applicants are found, we will consider filling as a Family Services Specialist II (SC 7004). Minimum qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, nursing (bachelor's or higher), counseling, human services, human resource development (human service track), education, child development and family science or criminal justice, and one year of professional human services work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional case manager; or a master's degree in one of the areas above.
