JOB TITLE: Fulfillment Center Clerical Support Associate

REPORTS TO: Fulfillment Account Manager

OVERVIEW OF ROLE: To grow our business through customer retention while balancing costs by performing clerical duties efficiently and to support operations in accordance with the Fulfillment Center Client base specifications. These duties include but are not limited to picking of orders, unloading of inbound trucks, checking of shipments, loading of outbound shipments, safety/housekeeping functions, and other duties as assigned in accordance of customer requirements. Follows work instructions from the warehouse manager to achieve operational parameters of the facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answer telephones in accordance with Ward standards using applicable marketing greeting.
  • Schedule delivery and pickup appointments according to hours of service for warehouse.
  • Accurately perform clerical support duties as required including typing correspondence, maintaining files, photocopying, faxing, etc.
  • Prepare and wave orders received via EDI for operations on a daily basis.
  • Print shipping labels as needed.
  • Promptly arrive inbound and outbound loads in the computer so that operations is prepared to receive and/or ship in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare accurate documentation for inbound and outbound loads.
  • Performs distribution services including receiving, shipping, order selection, put away and inventory control.
  • Follows all safe loading principals to ensure the safety and security of all DOT vehicles.
  • Operates all types of manual warehousing equipment that include pallet jacks, order picking cart with attached 3-step ladder, and various other manual material handling equipment. Utilizes RF based scanners for inventory tracking.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties to include, but not limited to, using a push broom, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash receptacles, as needed.
  • Maintains inventory integrity by thoroughly and accurately receiving and picking merchandise and auditing outbound orders for accuracy.
  • Reports all internal damage to the warehouse supervisor. Assist in the recouping of damages.
  • Follows customer requirements for all distribution functions to meet service standards specific for all customers
  • Disseminate paperwork/documentation as needed to the necessary parties (operations; drivers, supervisor, manager).
  • Demonstrate personal reliability by consistently meeting attendance / punctuality commitments.
  • Cooperates with others and willingly puts forth effort to achieve Company goals. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with other team members.
  • Fully support all technologies and processes, introduced by Ward, that are intended to improve efficiencies and/or the customer experience. Support would include adherence to training programs, guidelines and processes associated with these systems.
  • Prepare reports for receiving, shipping, as needed.
  • Support Operations as needed with picking/shipping/receiving duties.
  • This is a cross-trained position.
  • Must wear steel toed or composite safety shoes and other safety apparel when on the warehouse floor.
  • All other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
  • The ability to safely navigate and use a pick cart and/or ladder in the handling and/or researching of inventory.


Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be customer focused with good people skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and basic knowledge of telephone etiquette.
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English fluently.
  • Must have previous clerical experience in a business atmosphere.
  • Proficient data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in the fulfillment / distribution industry is preferred but not required.
  • Must wear steel-toed or composite shoes/boots and other required safety apparel
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and required hours as the business needs change to ensure operational efficiency
  • Must participate in random drug testing of all non-DOT employees.
  • Ability to use safely navigate and use a pick cart and/or ladder in the handling and/or researching of inventory.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer physical agility test, specifically designed for the tasks associated with the position. The physical demands for this position are "Medium-Heavy", as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles.
  • Specific physical demands include, but are not limited to:

- Carrying: Occasional, up to 50 lbs., up to 10 feet

- Pushing: Occasional, up to 70lbs of force. up to 100 feet

- Pulling: Occasional, up to 70lbs. of force, up to 100 feet

- Lifting - Floor to Knee, Knee to Waist, Waist to Shoulder: Occasional, up to 50 lbs.

- Stooping, Twisting, Balancing, Bending, Climbing, Crouching, Kneeling, Standing: Occasional

- Sitting: Frequent

- Walking: Frequent
