Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in energy, technology, and a passion to deliver products for a growing company. The Full Stack Developer is an integral role at creating interfaces, solutions, and applications to deliver automation, market interfaces, and sophisticated data analysis and visualization to allow power marketers and load customers to make critical economic decisions.

The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of economics, and a willingness to learn energy markets while on-the-job, delivering automation, visualization, and custom applications (customer-facing and internal).

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop flexible, customer-facing applications like web portals for business-critical data transfer, custom reporting and analytics, and 24-7 operations support
  • Contribute to our growing set of internal tools for process automation, data analysis, and operations excellence that can be iterated upon as market data changes, adapted to suit the team's changing needs, and documented clearly for other developers to support and improve
  • Streamline our internal and external data and intelligence processes by working on the API and applications levels to test and continuously integrate solutions according to best engineering practices
  • Collaborate with our developers, project management teams, and internal stakeholders within a broad scope encompassing customer service and experience, back-office process automation, and operational efficiency and accuracy; coordinate as a strategic liaison for our team with other groups in the company that develop similar tools or leverage common technologies
  • Improve our existing settlements automation, program-specific data management, and real-time data monitoring and associated responses for daily operations and grid emergencies alike
  • Understand the subtleties of translating and presenting the results of sophisticated data analysis and models in such a way that benefits and can easily be understood by colleagues and customers without in-depth knowledge of advanced statistics or data science
  • Strategically design adaptable solutions that suit our increasingly heterogenous portfolio of assets, changing market programs and regulations, and long-term goals of extending our reach into nationwide grids
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • 2-5 years of experience with software engineering with proficiency in C#/.NET
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in computer science, software engineering or information systems
  • Experience with Node.js and React.js desired - willingness to learn required
  • Experience with relational database concepts, SQL, logic modeling, best practices, and physical design
  • Experience with architecting, coding, and interacting with REST APIs
  • Experience working with ISO APIs
  • Experience with AWS and storage solutions such as API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3
  • Experience with cross-platform and front-end development, and process automation
  • Experience with collaborative and continuous development; familiarity with proper testing and documenting
  • Proficient in C# / .NET
  • Proficient in containerization technologies and deployment frameworks like Kubernetes and Docker
  • Proficient with non-relational datastores such as key-value, document databases, Azure Blob
  • Understanding of data analysis and how to effectively create clear and succinct reports and visuals
  • Understanding of economic principals and fundamental market behavior
  • Familiarity with SCADA engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to provide timely and accurate data analysis.
  • Strong business writing skills and experience developing communication in various formats.
