The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to be part of a dynamic high-performing entrepreneurial team focused on delivering the next generation Marketing Tech capabilities.

Marketing Technology teams work on creating end-to-end solutions that power American Express customer marketing campaigns. In this role you will have opportunities to influence, drive and deliver architecture to enable efficient and flexible campaign management process in collaboration with business, product and technology partners across the organization. Ideal candidate for this role is someone who is passionate about good design and great code, who can find elegant solutions to hard technical and functional challenges and can work well within and across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior member of an agile team that drives user feature analysis, solution architecture and development
  • Prepare technical design documentation and influence/obtain buy in from team, architects and other stakeholders
  • Design, develop and deliver elegant, flexible end-to-end software solutions
  • Lead design and code reviews
  • Drive iterative improvement of tools, automation and practices used by team
  • Ensure stability, availability and responsiveness of a suite of critical production applications owned by the team.
  • Ensure adherence to security and control standards
  • Scale team's impact by guiding and mentoring team members
  • Foster the spirit of collaboration and enterprise thinking across the organization
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends, evaluate and adopt new technologies, provide thought leadership, drive innovation


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with minimum 7+ years of overall software design and development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and testing.
  • Experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring boot frameworks and Web services
  • Experience implementing REST or GraphQL services and API's, knowledge of microservices architecture design patterns
  • Proficiency developing web front ends with React.js , Node.js, Java Script
  • Knowledge of TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Json, XML
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL
  • Experience in designing and developing messaging solutions using Kafka and messaging queues.
  • Knowledge of Unix, various Shell Scripting tools
  • Experience with test driven development, unit testing, and testing automation tools
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment (Jenkins, Maven, XLR ..etc.).
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools (GIT)


Qualifications

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
