Supervision

• Supervise in-person (unless specified otherwise) 20 students per semester

• Complete a minimum of four observations for each student teacher each semester
• Provide a minimum of four seminars for student teachers each semester
• Complete a midterm and final student teaching evaluation for each student teacher
• Serve as liaison between the university and the personnel of the school
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely fashion
• Assign and submits grades in accordance with established University schedules

Student teacher placement

• Place 20 student teachers per semester

Student teaching program coordination

• In collaboration with other FTLs, assist student teachers who struggle and/or receive a notice of concern (writing a redevelopment plan if necessary) by serving on a student teacher success committee
• Be a resource and/or contact person for other university supervisors (PTLs)
• In collaboration with other FTLs, plan and conduct a biweekly student teaching team meeting
• In collaboration with the clinical experiences coordinator and other FTLs, plan and conduct a student teaching orientation and a student teaching workshop per semester

Student teaching program continuous improvement

• In collaboration with other FTLs and the clinical experiences coordinator, assist the Associate Dean for Students and Curriculum with overseeing field experience protocols for faculty, students, supervisors, and partners (including serving on an educator readiness board)
• In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Students and Curriculum, plan and conduct a supervisors' meeting twice a semester
• Be a liaison with the program/department in their specialized area

Perform related duties as requested

• Perform duties relevant to their specialized area (Special Ed or problem-, project-, and place-based based education)

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree, or a Bachelor's degree plus thirty (30) graduate credit hours in a discipline directly related to the teaching assignment, or equivalent, as determined by the Department Head/School Director.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A teaching certificate, extensive classroom teaching experience
• A master's degree
• Previous student teaching supervisory experience (in the EMU's College of Education's Office of Academic Services is preferred)
