Position Summary:
The UCI School of Medicine is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and clinical practice through scholarly research, physician education and high-quality care. The office of Medical Education oversees the education and training of medical students at the UCI School of Medicine, ranked as one of the top 50 U.S. medical schools for research by U.S. News & World Report. We are dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and clinical practice by offering a rich educational environment. We nurture the development of medical students, resident physicians and scholars in the clinical and basic sciences and support the dissemination of research advances for the benefit of society. Each year, we educate more than 400 medical students and train more than 700 residents and fellows at UC Irvine Medical Center and affiliated institutions. The medical school's 915 full- and part-time and 753 volunteer faculty members are involved in teaching, providing medical care, and conducting research into the health challenges facing the 21st century. The school has 26 departments, ranging from basic science research to clinical medical and surgical specialties. It has research, clinical and teaching relationships with the VA Long Beach Healthcare System and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. This position will oversee fundraising efforts for the Train New Trainers (TNT) Fellowships education programs within the Office of Medical Education. Under the direction of Associate Dean and TNT Administrative Director, this fundraising professional will lead specific campaign development programs and secure significant philanthropic support for the division, with a goal of raising a minimum of $300,000 during the first year. The scope of responsibilities includes: qualification, cultivation, and solicitation, of new and existing donors, donor engagement, meeting metrics, development and coordination of fundraising programs and events, development of collateral material, presentations, newsletters, stewardship, and coordination of leadership meetings. This position performs coordination of complex duties that engages with confidential and sensitive information of a broad scope related to donor relations, annual and major gift fundraising, and public relations. Position needs a motivated individual willing to partner with development officers, and faculty in priority areas to create opportunities for friends, alumni, health plans and corporations to give. This fundraiser will manage and implement the annual fund, solicit leadership annual fund donations and solicit major gifts. Position will assist in the organization and implementation of special events and conferences. Fundraiser will handle special projects/assignments involving direct interaction with staff, volunteers, event attendees and donors. The main goal related to fundraising is to support the development and growth of education programs, which lead to expansion of behavioral health workforce in mainly underserved areas.
Implements specific plans for fundraising and alumni relations programs and activities; or may plan, administer, and implement an established fundraising project or program of limited scope and complexity. Provides basic analysis of program trends and results; assists in developing materials; and coordinates work of support staff. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each specialization.

Required:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Good written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies.
- Good organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills. Skills in maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of the location, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
Special Conditions Required:
