Description

SAIC is seeking a Geospatial Cloud Project Manager to support the Department of interior GeoPlatform.gov enterprise environment. GeoPlatform is hosted in a geospatial AWS cloud hosting service and provides access to trusted geospatial data and web-based geospatial solutions using Esri-based and other geospatial products developed by various DOI and other Federal organizations. This position is fully remote and can be worked from anywhere within the United States.

The successful candidate serves as the project manager and overall technical lead supporting transition, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of approximately 40 cloud systems to SAIC. The candidate coordinates directly with GeoPlatform technical leads and customer project managers to gather system information and requirements, define transition and O&M schedules, and provide status reports and other documentation. They lead a team of cloud SMEs, database and systems administrators, software developers, and geospatial specialists in ensuring transition and O&M of the systems meet government schedule and operational requirements. The candidate works directly with the Program Manager to compile and deliver status reports, quality assurance plans, risk mitigation plans, and technical documentation. They monitor and report on Service Level Agreement (SLA) status and track technical, financial, and invoicing status for multiple GeoPlatform projects.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience.

Required Technical Skills:
  • AWS Cloud (commercial and/or GovCloud) hosting system architecture and administration experience.
  • Extensive experience leading migration of applications from one organization to another within AWS.
  • Architecture, engineering, and maintenance experience using Esri-based geospatial products (ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Esri Kubernetes cluster, etc.) and other (e.g., MapBox) geospatial services.
  • Implementing industry cloud best practices for security, performance, cost, & resiliency in all aspects of design & implementation.
  • Extensive experience managing projects requiring AWS cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) administration, engineering, and maintenance with familiarity of AWS native services such as AWS IAM, VPC, Key Mgmt., Lambda, EC2, CloudFront, Route53, EBS, S3, RDS, Autoscaling Groups, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SQL Server, Config, Certificates, CFT, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, ECR, EKS and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with administration and management of VPCs, NACLs, NSGs, and DNS services.
  • Experience managing projects and leading teams using Agile, Scrum and DevSecOps methodologies and frameworks and Infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation and Ansible.
  • Extensive experience managing cloud projects requiring administration, orchestration, provisioning, re-provisioning, security services, management, and automation of VM images with OS configuration and STIG compliance.
  • Experience with AWS cloud hosting and account management, procurement, and expenditure tracking and maintaining knowledge articles, SOPs, and required configuration management artifacts.
  • Extensive experience tracking technical, schedule, expenditure, and financial status of many geospatial cloud projects in an enterprise environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Desired technical skills:
  • Experience with FedRAMP and Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC), GeoPlatform, and other Federal geospatial data policies and procedures.
  • Cloud, program management, and/or geospatial certifications.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
