Position Title: GI Technical Specialist

Position Summary: The GI Technical Specialist is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for gastroenterology (GI) equipment and technology. This role requires a strong understanding of GI procedures, equipment, and the ability to assist healthcare professionals in optimizing the use of GI technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for GI equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to GI technology.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on GI equipment.
  • Ensure all GI equipment is functioning correctly and safely.

Training and Education:
  • Train healthcare professionals on the proper use and maintenance of GI equipment.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and materials.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in GI technology and share knowledge with the team.

Installation and Setup:
  • Install and set up new GI equipment in healthcare facilities.
  • Conduct initial testing and calibration to ensure proper functionality.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to integrate new technology seamlessly into their workflows.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and support activities.
  • Generate detailed reports on technical issues, resolutions, and equipment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Customer Service:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and inquiries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Product Development Support:
  • Collaborate with the product development team to provide feedback on equipment performance.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new GI technologies.

Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
    • Certification in GI technology or related areas is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in technical support or a similar role, preferably in the healthcare or medical device industry.
    • Experience with GI equipment and technology is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to train and educate others effectively.
    • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
    • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in healthcare.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if required.
    • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to [specific weight, e.g., 50 pounds].
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
