The Banking Group is comprised of a number of industry groups which work closely with product team members in Mergers & Acquisitions, Global Capital Markets, Real Estate, and other industry groups throughout the Firm to provide relevant market insight, product creativity, and execution expertise to clients. These solutions include initial public offerings; public and private equity and equity-linked financings; mergers, acquisitions and restructurings; defense advisory assignments; strategic partnerships; public and private debt placements; share repurchases; and hedging, swaps and derivative transactions.
When clients need capital, Global Capital Markets (GCM) responds with market judgments and ingenuity. Ability to work closely with GCM and Investment banking colleagues is paramount in providing seamless advice to senior management of Fortune 500 companies on strategic positioning to optimize corporate financing decisions with investors and rating agencies. Such advice to fortune 500 and mid cap clients as well as private equity sponsors on optimal capital structures include debt capacity associated with M&A, LBO and other corporate finance strategic decisions, liquidity analysis, loss given default and recovery analysis and general rating advisory methodologies, as well as best positioning clients for credit rating defense and paths for rating upgrades.
Qualifications:
- You have an ability to manage multiple projects, provide complicated financial analysis, and develop appropriate corporate finance and credit advisory solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of Debt Capital Market
- Extensive Rating Agency experience (highly preferred) with comprehensive insight and perspective of Rating Agency's overall credit analysis and methodologies
- Extraordinarily high level of motivation and commitment to working hard
- Extraordinarily high level of focus on work quality and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skill
- Professionalism and ability to articulate and present complex rating agency methodology, criteria and rating impacts on complex transactions in a clear and concise manner during client interaction meeting
- Commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadline
- Interest in developing a career in Global Capital Market
- Bachelors degree is required; an MBA, CA and/or CFA designation would be an asset
- Series licensing or must obtain
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $250,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Morgan Stanley's goal is to build and maintain a workforce that is diverse in experience and background but uniform in reflecting our standards of integrity and excellence. Consequently, our recruiting efforts reflect our desire to attract and retain the best and brightest from all talent pools. We want to be the first choice for prospective employees.
