The School of Architecture at the University of Virginia is seeking a Grants and Contracts Administrator or Senior Grants and Contracts Administrator . This position will full perform activities related to the lifecycle of sponsored program administration including identification of funding sources, proposal submission, contract review , sub-award issuance, and post-award administration (both financial and non-financial) related to funding provided in the form of gifts, grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts from external/internal funding sources , i.e. federal agencies, state agencies, private companies or foundations , that provide support for research, curriculum development, outreach, and/or service work . These d uties will be performed in coordination with principal investigators, administrator s , and other staff members.

This position will provide periodic training events and workshops to principal investigators and staff that focus on the individual stages of the lifecycle of a research grant.

Th is position requires strong communication skills as the candidates will be required , throughout the life cycle of the research grants, to work and collaborate with different entities and personnel within the University . Job responsibilities require strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of research and administrative operations. Strong interpersonal skills are needed for effective communication with all parties.

This will be a hybrid eligible position. Th is person will be expected to periodically attend on-site activities, including but not limited to conducting meetings with stakeholders, providing workshops and training, and actively participating in outreach and engagement initiatives.

The School of Architecture, comprised of four interrelated but distinct disciplines, provides a rich setting for professional education, leading to undergraduate and graduate degrees in Architecture, Architectural History, Landscape Architecture, and Urban and Environmental Planning. Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years of related experience . Four (4) additional years of experience in a finance, business administration, or grants and contracts related role may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong, working knowledge of excel is required .
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills .
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification
  • Experience with workday financials and/or Huron
This position is eligible to be hired at the intermediate or senior level based on candidate qualifications , salary will be commensurate with level of position and candidate experience.

Anticipated hiring range : $ 68 ,000-$ 9 6 , 000
