Responsibilities

  • Responsible for mowing and landscape maintenance including the operation of zero-turn mowers. Provides other general landscape maintenance tasks including but not limited to edging, raking, debris removal, chemical applications, and general plant maintenance.
  • Responsible for landscape aeration including the operation of tractors with aeration implements at assigned areas on campus.
  • Responsible for landscape overseeding including the operation of tractors with overseeding implements. Related duties may include the operation of topdressers and verticutters.
  • Responsible for landscape site preparation, fertilization, sod removal, sod installation, and other general landscaping and groundskeeping responsibilities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned in support of Grounds and Landscape Operations including assisting the Irrigation Crew, Tree Crew, and Planting Crew.

Qualifications

  • Completion of 9th grade.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position to include standing, bending, reaching, stooping for long periods of time,
    lifting/moving up to 25 lbs in excess, and working under all weather conditions?

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment, and materials used in landscaping and groundskeeping work.
  • Ability to perform groundskeeping work to include the transplanting, cultivation, pruning, and trimming of plants, shrubs, and trees.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.Knowledge of landscaping and groundskeeping techniques.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related University policies and procedures.
