Job Description:

Group Insurance Implementation Manager - Remote Primary Duties & Responsibilities Support operations team of Group Supplemental insurance carrier by managing complex new group implementations through entire lifecycle (from RFP/proposal though first bill). Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with GLGB Business Development Manager to develop seek understanding and provide accurate responses to RFPs for premier or complex cases. Participate in discovery and finalist meetings as necessary.
  • Advise key stakeholders on out-of-scope product or administrative requirements or expectations which may impact customer satisfaction and provide recommendations for to achieve administrative objectives.
  • Act as Project Manager for complex case implementations by developing implementation goals, timelines, guidelines and processes and training for various types of complex group implementation.
  • Coordinate with clients and administrators to promote successful installation of complex accounts. Includes gathering and analyzing requirements and documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing notes, layouts, charts and diagrams that successfully map workflows among stakeholders involved in complex cases (i.e., broker, group, eligibility vendor, premium vendor, COBRA vendor, etc.) to be sure:
    1. the "source of truth" is identified,
    2. the data model is designed so information flows seamlessly among all parties (e.g., groups have same data set for setting up deductions that TPA has for enrolling members and sending out ID cards),
    3. the standards for different types of file processes (e.g., spreadsheet vs. EDI) are understood and communicated clearly, and
    4. reporting is developed and delivered as appropriate for the administrative service model selected (e.g., error reports, missed deduction reports, etc.).
  • Identify project risks and develop solutions for mitigation.
  • Engage administrative partners to develop and maintain processes and collateral for successful onboarding of new accounts (including design of ID cards and sleeves, Admin Guides, etc.)
  • Develop training and development programs for the TPA and Key Account Managers. May coach and review the work of colleagues and support staff.

  • Industry and product expertise/ business and corporate awareness: understands Group Insurance contracts, administrative processes and automation; background and experience with group administrative platforms and billing

Required Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Group Insurance environment in a case management role.
  • Previous experience managing carrier relationships with Third Party Administrators and enrollment vendors strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience with Group Insurance products and service, group administration, and external customer service preferred.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of supplemental health market and all aspects of on-boarding new business including case paperwork, policy issue, billing, customer service, commissions, and contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster multi-disciplinary team collaboration.
  • Project management skills a plus.
