Job Description:
The Athens Rock Lobsters are currently seeking an experienced professional to serve as a fully-certified and licensed Athletic Trainer. In addition to full responsibilities for player care and injury management, this position requires daily interactions with team physicians, strength and conditioning coaches, as well as the Head Coach, hockey operations staff, and front office staff.

Job Questions:
The Athens Rock Lobsters are currently seeking an experienced professional to serve as a fully-certified and licensed Athletic Trainer. In addition to full responsibilities for player care and injury management, this position requires daily interactions with team physicians, strength and conditioning coaches, as well as the Head Coach, hockey operations staff, and front office staff.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the day-to-day rehabilitation of players.
- Formulate and develop individualized return-to-play parameters based on player injuries.
- Accurately evaluate and diagnose hockey-related injuries and general medical conditions.
- Maintain consistent communication regarding prognosis and progressions with team physicians, the Head Coach, coaching staff, and front office.
- Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for athletes to assess their ability to practice and compete.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of injury and rehabilitation, including daily injury reports.
- Build relationships with all Athens Rock Lobsters team physicians and medical service providers while serving as the primary point of contact.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating medical action plans.
- Continually research and implement new methods and best practices for the medical treatment of players.
- Collaborate with the organization's strength & conditioning coaches to optimize player performance.
- Attend all games, practices, and training sessions, both home and away, as well as player physicals and medical appointments.
- Maintain and monitor inventory levels of medical supplies.
- Ensure all league-mandated medical supplies are set up and available for visiting teams.
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times, especially in high-stress situations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by team leadership.
- Report(s) to the Head Coach and team management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or similar field (required)
- Master's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or similar field (preferred)
- BOC Credentialed Athletic Trainer
- Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Georgia.
- Strength and conditioning experience preferred.
- Experience with a professional hockey team is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
- Commitment to performing duties at the highest level possible on a consistent basis.
- Strong strategic thinking skills and personal accountability.
- Positive attitude and a desire to succeed while enjoying a professional and team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively.

- Reliable transportation is essential.
Compensation:
- Year Round Full Time position
