This position reports to
R&D Global Unit Lead
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to conceptualize, identify, explore, and implement world-leading technologies, products, and systems within and across product groups/divisions/business areas. Each day, you will ensure delivery of results, foster innovation, and strategically develop and secure Research and Development (R&D) capabilities with a cost-effective footprint. You will also showcase your expertise by coordinating at various management levels as well as with external partners to enhance and secure ABB´s global position and profitability in the medium and long term. This position is expected to work on site in the office the majority of the time. You will be mainly accountable for: • Acting as a senior global spokesperson for the appropriate level of business management (product group/division/business area) as well as for external parties, e.g., to facilitate the resolution of technology and quality issues within and across organizations. • Contributing to technology components for the creation and execution of product group/division/business area strategies. • Ensuring processes, procedures, and tools are in place and in line with ABB's global standards (e.g., gate model) to ensure R&D project results are delivered with high quality on time and within budget. • Coordinating among local sites and multiple projects, ensuring that appropriate actions and decisions are taken to manage conflicts or resolve problems.

Qualifications for the role
- Masters degree in Engineering or Science required
- PhD in Engineering or Science discipline preferred.
- 15+ years of Management experience in a technical field required.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
