Why does the job exist?

Healthcare Surveyor - Operational/IMB Investigator will:
  • Conduct investigations of abuse, neglect, exploitation, environmental hazard, suspicious injury, and deaths of individuals who receive State and Federal Medicaid funded services through the waiver programs, Developmental Disabilities waiver, the self-directed Mi Via waiver, the Medically Fragile waiver, the Supports waiver and the State General Funds program.


How does it get done?

Healthcare Surveyor - Operational/IMB Investigator is responsible for:
  • Conducting interviews of victims and witnesses
  • Ensuring the health and safety of the alleged victim during the investigation
  • Reviewing documentation
  • Obtaining professional consultations and writing detailed investigative reports

  • The individuals who received waiver services
  • Guardians and families of the individuals
  • Provider Agencies
  • All team members of the individual

Minimum Qualification

Associate's Degree in from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation and/or Criminal Justice and two (2) years of experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must be available to work on-call.

Working Conditions

Office setting, attending meetings, visiting provider agencies, extensive computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
