Position Title (Classification Title): Help Desk Technician - Student, Student Assistant Job Summary: A Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing UWF students, faculty, and staff with technical PHONE and on­site support related to the use of university technology services including ArgoNet services, MyUWF services, and online instructional tools.

Essential Functions of Job:
● Provides excellent customer service and fosters a productive, positive team environment.
● Demonstrates working knowledge of operating systems and application installations, commonly used web
browsers, and Microsoft applications.
● Displays excellent troubleshooting skills with software and hardware related problems.
● Demonstrates and articulates knowledge of ArgoNet services, MyUWF applications, ArgoAir (UWF's wireless
network), eLearning (Canvas), and all enterprise-wide UWF systems.
● Dispatches on campus to assist instructors with ITS-supported classroom equipment.
● Provides basic networking support and troubleshooting for the wired and wireless campus network.
● Uses electronic ticketing system to document support provided and initiate issue escalation when appropriate.
● Assists customers with ArgoAir configuration and connectivity.
● Applies cybersecurity best practices and awareness when offering technical support.
● Adheres to departmental and University policies.

Marginal Functions of Job:
● Seeks to learn and understand the latest in networking and computing technology.
● Works on projects as needed for the improvement of the ITS Help Desk operation. Department ITS General Admin FLSA: Non-Exempt Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a student enrolled for credit. Applicants may be a student at UWF or any other college, university or high school. A student enrolled at an institution other than UWF must provide proof of attendance by submitting a registration/fee payment receipt from the school they will attend. Position Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
● Exhibits a strong work ethic; must be mature, responsible, dependable, and punctual.
● Demonstrates excellent customer service, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
● Shows ability to be a self-starter with good critical thinking skills.
● Familiar with eLearning (Canvas), UWF Gmail, MyUWF, web apps, and Microsoft applications.
● Available to work 20 hours per week between (M-F), possibly including evenings until 6:30 PM (M-R).
● Available to work additional hours per week during peak times of semesters (maximum is 28.5 hours per week).
● Available to work between semesters even when classes are not in session, but UWF is open.

Minimum Qualifications:
● An applicant must be a student enrolled for credit in a minimum of 6 semester hours. The applicant may be a student at UWF or any other college or university. A student enrolled at an institution other than UWF must provide proof of attendance by submitting a registration/fee payment from the school they will attend.
● **This position requires a criminal background screening, and an applicant must possess a valid driver's license to operate UWF golf cart and motorized utility vehicles. Physical Demands:
