Shift/Schedule

Weekday, daytime PRN position with current minimum availability expectation of 3 days per week, designated in half day (= 3 patients) or full day (= 6 patients) including all documentation requirements. Patient residences within the UT Southwestern Home Health service area (DFW).

Job Summary

Applicant is willing to help cover the entire UTSW Home Health coverage area when needed (Schedulers work hard toward geographic efficiency/preferred areas as able).

Experience and Education
  • Undergraduate degree and one to two (1-2) years experience in occupational therapy is required.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Diver's License.
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist is required.
  • Preferred: Occupational Therapy services to homebound patients.
Job Duties
  • Designs occupational therapy programs and sets goals for each patient.
  • Administers occupational therapy care programs or portions of programs.
  • Provides instructions in therapeutic procedures to be continued by patient and family.
  • Evaluates, records, and reports on patient's progress for review by members of care team.
  • Maintains patient records and charts to ensure accurate record of treatment.
  • Identifies patient's occupational therapy needs to achieve long and short-term goals to meet needs.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
