Summary
  • Hospice-Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner - Per Diem
    • The Nurse Practitioner (NP) works autonomously but in collaboration with physicians to deliver primary medical care and intraepisodic care for hospice patients. The NP provides advanced practice nursing services through management of the terminal condition, and developing treatment plans for patients at home and in the hospice house to meet the hospice mission to "Provide holistic, compassionate, quality comfort care that enhances the lives of our patients and their families while respecting the right to self-determination".
    • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
      • Education: Masters degree in nursing.
      • License/Certifications: State of Maine licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers. Current, valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle, with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
      • Experience: Previous experience and education in Hospice.
      • Proficient with Electronic Health Record, OASIS, and PPS.
      • Strong and effective leadership skills.
      • Ability to manage in a hectic environment to achieve Agency goals and quality care outcomes.
      • Excellent customer service skills.
