- Position Summary
- The SCU Physician Asst (PA) or Acute Care Practitioner (ACNP) also known as Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides patient care services under the supervision of the Intensivist Physician or Special Care Unit attending physician. This involves the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with a variety of complex conditions in the hospital setting. The SCU APP is expected to comply with all pertinent treatment policies, evidence-based care bundles, and clinical order sets, as well as all applicable hospital-wide policies and procedures.
- Qualifications:
- Education: Successful completion of an approved Physician Asst/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program with a Master's Degree level of education is preferred.
- License/Certifications: Current license issued by the State of Maine as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Asst with supervising physician required. BLS certification is required.
- Experience: Three or more years of experience in a physician inpatient setting required..
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Unit specific criteria desired based on specialty. See unit specific statement of clinical competency.
