The Divisional HR Operations Manager is the lead HR resource for assigned retail divisions. Provide HR guidance and implementation to the Divisional Vice Presidents and leadership team in executing the business strategy. The Divisional HR Operations Manager, oversees and guides a team of HR Operations Specialists, supporting their development and performance. This role is responsible for effective implementation of HR programs, policies, and practices across their assigned geographical areas. Provides functional, technical and process guidance to ensure the company's treatment of associates is fair, respectful, and consistent with our core values and policies promoting positive working relationships and driving associate engagement and business strategy.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a team of HR Operations Specialists throughout the assigned geographical areas to drive, influence and implement people strategies that are aligned with business requirements while maintaining a high degree of integrity as you handle sensitive and confidential matters and information. Manages a team of HR specialists to ensure consistent practices and decision-making to mitigate legal risk and promote a strong ethical and consistent environment
o Lead, coach and develop team of HR Operations Specialists in a assigned geographical areas.
o Maintain expert knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations governing employment (EEO, wage and hour, employee benefit, leave)
o Implement people strategies driven by HR metrics within assigned geographical areas and successfully support team of HR Operations Specialists in implementation of data driven strategies.
o Ensure team of HR Operations Specialists are effectively and thoroughly handling case assignments (maintained in ServiceNow and Ethics Point) and assist with case management of complex, escalated or overflow case work. Case assignments to HR Opertaions Specialist can consist of advice and counsel for disciplinary processes, requests to terminate, misconduct, accommodations, associate concerns, policy questions, etc.
o Lead HR Operations Specialist team in the proper implementation of accommodation requests (medical, religious, pregnancy, etc.), documenting the interactive process in the HR case management system with in assigned geographic areas.

• Support critical incident response within assigned geographical areas. This includes social media and media concerns, labor activity, escalated incidents, or any other concern that may pose significant exposure to the organization.
• Collaborates with the Asset Protection division leadership to provide critical incident support and dispositions for investigations.
• Responsible for responding to preventive labor activity in assigned geographical areas or as needed
• Responsible for ensuring disciplinary appeal process is appropriately executed within assigned geographical areas.
• Oversee the effective cascade HR related communications and trainings across assigned geographical areas and support HR Specialists in the successful implementations of HR programs/processes (i.e. talent management, merit process, wage/compensation reviews, HR related trainings)
• Engages with the shared services organization when specific expertise is required, and to ensure proper execution of HR processes (i.e. LOA and Workman's Compensation)
• Conducts thorough, confidential and timely workplace investigations as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

Solid knowledge of a variety of the HR concepts, practices, and procedures
• Experience in leading a team
• Proficient knowledge of employment-related local, state and federal laws and regulations governing employment (EEO, wage and hour, employee benefit, leave)
• Interprets policy and procedures consistently and objectively, specific to the individual circumstance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, integrity and professionalism
• High degree of independence in completing work assignments and making decisions concerning various human resource activities
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Field based role - must reside within/nearby assigned geography

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in HR, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or other related field
• Experience with working in multi-unit work environments
• HR Certification (SHRM or PHR)

Education

Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related discipline and a minimum of 5 years HR related work experience, or High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years HR related work experience

Experience

• 5 to 7 years of HR related work experience
• 2 to 3 years of experience with leading teams

Physical

• Prolonged periods of sitting while performing computer work functions
• Maintain a Class C driver's license
• Must be able to access and navigate travel in a multi-unit geography

Travel

• 25% to 30% travel as needed
• Maintain a registered and insured motor vehicle
• Visits retail locations, as needed, within assigned geographies
• Travel outside of assigned geographies for meetings, training, or providing HR support
