Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. This position is located in Custodial Services at the Downtown Campus. The incumbent in this position reports to the Supervisor of Custodial Services and the position is also overseen by the Manager of Custodial Services.

Although the position is assigned to the Downtown Campus, the responsibilities of the position are college-wide and the incumbent will be called upon to work anywhere within J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. Duties of the position include performing general housekeeping functions, assisting with special setups, and serving on thecollege-wide emergency team. Is considered “Essential Personnel”, and a first responder to inclement weather andother emergencies.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Some knowledge of cleaning methods and use of cleaning supplies and equipment. Some knowledge and skill inproper cleaning techniques as well as stripping, waxing, buffing floors and shampooing carpets (dry and wetmethods). Knowledge of and ability to apply proper safety techniques to be used in day-to-day housekeepingoperations. Ability to operate buffers, burnishers, wet and dry vacuums and other housekeeping equipment. Ability
to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to lift and move heavy objects; stand for extended periods of time; andto tolerate contact with a variety of cleaning products and solutions.
Additional Considerations Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel
As needed between campuses.
