Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) AND PROGRAMMING ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, Media Lab , to perform diverse administrative activities in the human resources area. Will develop and use broad understanding of policies and procedures to respond to and resolve inquiries; maintain and schedule group calendars; coordinate travel; compose, draft, edit, and proofread documents; handle weekly payroll processing; maintain directories, lists, intranet, digital files, databases, etc.; assist with annual reviews; conduct new employee orientations; create appointment transactions; coordinate new hire paperwork and visa intake and processing; manage temporary agency process and act as liaison for temporary workers; order supplies; coordinate and manage logistics and collateral for meetings and events; monitor all financial activities for the group; serve as primary liaison to contractors on administrative and financial details; and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of administrative or related experience; excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy; discretion and sound judgment with confidential information and when solving sensitive problems; and advanced-level computer skills and the ability to learn new programs. Must be able to own and follow through on tasks, demonstrate a flexible approach to work and openness to change, concurrently handle competing and changing priorities, and work collaboratively. PREFERRED : bachelor's degree; experience with MIT business apps (e.g., Concur, PeopleFluent); and proficiency with Mac computers and Office 365, Google apps, Dropbox, Canva, and Mailchimp.
