As the Employee Relations Consultant, you will work in a dynamic environment with multiple time-sensitive priorities. You will primarily handle investigations of employee relations- and compliance-related complaints (such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, etc.). This responsibility includes formulating plans, processes, and timetables to conduct an accurate, complete and thorough investigation within a specified timeframe; identifying, gathering, and preserving relevant evidence; conducting and documenting witness interviews; and thoroughly documenting investigations and preparing comprehensive, accurate, and factual reports for review by leadership. Additionally, in consultation with Human Resources, you will take an active role in performance management, preparing corrective action documents, performance improvement plans, and delivery of employee conversations.

In the Employee Relations Consultant role, you will review and monitor cases to identify trends, potential risk areas and development opportunities. Using this information, you will work collaboratively with Human Resources to bring cases to resolution and implement training and coaching to improve manager and employee performance and engagement.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or closely related
  • 3-5 years of experience handling internal company investigations within Employee Relations or Human Resources
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting highly sensitive investigative fieldwork, including investigative analysis; reporting party, subject employee and witness interviews; leading leadership debriefs; and proposing recommended action based on investigation findings.
  • Experience creating professional, well-drafted investigation reports, including investigation plans and findings
  • Thorough critical thinking and problem-solving skills; demonstrated by the ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently, bringing investigation to closure rapidly and definitively
  • Absolute integrity, proven business acumen, knowledge of industry trends and HR best practices, superior collaboration and communications skills, as well as passion, perseverance, and creativity
  • Ability to easily develop trust and rapport and influence business leaders and partners.
  • Remain respectful and diplomatic in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation
  • Understanding of federal and state employment and labor laws
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location, when needed

Ideally, you'll also have:
  • Master's degree in related field
  • SPHR credential
