HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

ALTA IT Services, a System One company is staffing a direct hire opening for a Human Resources Manager to support a Columbus, OH power equipment company. This is a full-time onsite position.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager with 8+ years of broad experience to oversee the development and execution of HR policies and programs, aligning them with the organization's goals. The role involves handling key HR functions like recruitment, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The HR Manager acts as a trusted advisor to management and employees, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

The HR Manager role has one direct report, a Human Resources Generalist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment & Staffing:
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract, select, and retain qualified talent of various job titles and levels.
  • Oversee job postings, interviews, and the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Develop and/or improve the new hire onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs.
  • Coordinate/Facilitate the use of staffing agencies for recruiting
  • Run background checks


Employee Relations & Engagement:
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies and issues.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees, guiding employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary issues.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement and job satisfaction.


Performance Management:
  • Design and manage the performance appraisal system to ensure fair evaluations.
  • Support managers in providing feedback and coaching to employees.
  • Participate in the development of training materials and guides for HR users across the organization.


Compensation & Benefits:
  • Consolidate various employee benefit plans across the company and subsidiaries.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness.
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and ensure equitable pay practices.


Compliance & Legal:
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure that HR policies and procedures are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.


Organizational Development:
  • Lead talent management initiatives, including succession planning.
  • Prepare reports and communications for senior management.


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


SALARY RANGE: $120,000+ range annually, plus benefits.
