The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Performs operations as required by job work order and/orblueprint or diagram in preventive maintenance and repairs tovarious types of electrical equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Performs operations as required by job work order and/orblueprint or diagram in preventive maintenance and repairs to various types of electrical equipment such as motors, controland power circuits (both A.C. and D.C.), switches, generators, transformers, relays, motor controllers, rectifier units, electrical devices, systems and apparatus, load distributions, cables and printed circuitry.
  • Must be proficient in the use of all tool of theelectrical trade and must be skilled in the operations ofelectrical test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters,ohmmeters, multi-meters, meggers, tachometers, temperaturegauges, watt meters, phase meters, and various recordingdevices.
  • Must be proficient in interpreting blueprints and schematics to assess circuitry requirements. Responsibilities include supervising and guiding lower-level employees on projects involving electrical repairs and installations, ensuring compliance with the Electrical Code of the City of New York.
  • Required to maintain a home telephone and be accessible for emergency calls during evenings and on non-working days.
    Expected to accept a proportional share of scheduled overtime work.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma and/or equivalent or electrical trade schooldiploma required.
  • 6 years in the electrical field, 2 years experience asan "A" mechanic and 1 year experience in electro-magnetic

    controllers.
