Why does the job exist?

Incumbent will conduct family centered meetings (FCM) facilitation and provide consultation in case staffings for child protective services cases, with a focus mostly on permanency cases. Incumbent will train and coach staff in the Individualized Planning Process, and assist with facilitating Individualized Planning Meetings as needed, with a focus mostly on permanency and placement.

How does it get done?

• Assist in setting up family centered meetings (FCM) and Individualized Planning Meetings (1PM) that are individualized to family needs and assists the presenting protective services with their preparation in accordance with the Protective Services Division practice model (30%);

• Facilitates family centered meeting (FCM) meetings, family group decision making (FGDM), Individualized Planning Process and other facilitated meetings/staffings according to guidelines (30%);

• Documents efforts and plans in FACTS from staffings, other facilitation's and FGDM following standards/format according to type of meeting. (20%);

• Works collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure the provision of quality services so as to achieve the goals of safety and well-being for children and families served by the agency (20%).

Ideal Candidate

Experience as it relates to:
• Working directly with Children, Youth, and their families;

• Partner with Community Service providers as it relates to Children, and Youth;

• Working with Youth in a school setting;

• Determining eligibility for services that might be needed for the Children, Youth and Families;

• Conduct and complete assessments of safety, risks, strengths, and family needs;

• Developing Safety plans for the Children, Youth and Families;

• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings;

• Identify, provide, and/or arrange timely assessments/evaluations/ interviews;

• Conduct medical case management activities for eligible clients.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Guidance and Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology or Criminology from an accredited college/university and licensure in New Mexico as a Doctoral Level Psychologist, Psychologist Associate, LISW, LMSW, LPC, LPCC, LMHC or LMFT or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements OR a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice or Family Services from an accredited college/university and two (2) years of any combination of experience including working with communities on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or related experience totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting. Late hours, weekend, and callback work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Possible exposure to irate clientele. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Travel is required.
