Industrial Engineer - Planner

The selected candidate for this role will be responsible for plant and transport planning, process improvements and scheduling in FreshDirect's Operations

  • Utilize data analytics and modeling techniques to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction within the function.
  • Develop and implement scheduling algorithms and methodologies to optimize distribution schedules.
  • Utilize historical data, sales forecasts, and production schedules to develop accurate labor forecasts for various departments and shifts. Collaborate with operations managers and HR personnel to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Create and maintain employee schedules based on labor forecasts, production requirements, and staffing availability. Optimize shift assignments and rotations to maximize productivity and minimize overtime costs.
  • Analyze labor utilization and efficiency metrics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to optimize workforce utilization and improve labor productivity.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to labor planning and scheduling processes.
  • Collect and analyze data to quantify and validate process improvements.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field
  • 2+ years' experience in operations, logistics, warehousing or manufacturing
  • 2+ years' experience in data analysis and SQL


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in industrial engineering or related field
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Experience working with an automated system.
  • Hands on experience with WMS and SAP
