Sr. Industrial Engineer, Continuous Improvement

The selected candidate for this role will be responsible for process improvements and scheduling in FreshDirect's Operations

  • Utilize data analytics and modeling techniques to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction within the function.
  • Develop and implement scheduling algorithms and methodologies to optimize distribution schedules.
  • Demonstrate strong continuous improvement knowledge and application of toolkit.

  • Develop and ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Support plant and transport project improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and drive the change process.

  • Work with partner and SME (subject matter experts) to identify and resolve any concerns related to the processes and systems.
  • Be the operations representative for system change management.
  • Flexible schedule and availability during critical times and peaks of the year including project roll out periods.
  • Design and implement efficient solutions including but not limited to capacity, productivity, quality and service.
  • Collect and analyze data to quantify and validate process improvements.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including cost justification, project planning, execution, training, and go-live support.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in industrial engineering or related field
  • 3+ years' experience in operations, logistics, warehousing or manufacturing
  • 2+ years' experience in data analysis and SQL
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and lead individuals who are not direct reports
  • Comfortable juggling and coordinating multiple projects across several channels simultaneously
  • Able to write for and work with a wide range of audiences, from executives to line workers
  • Enjoy operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment under time constraints.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in operations, logistics, warehousing or manufacturing

  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Experience working with an automated system.
  • Hands on experience with WMS and SAP
