The General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) Security team is seeking a highly self-motivated individual with experience supporting DoD security requirements to serve as a Security Associate. To be successful in this role, you should be able be well-organized, proactive, communicate effectively, possess strong time management skills and be able to take on multiple challenges and act with minimal guidance. The individual will report to the Global Security Manager and manage various duties and responsibilities associated within supporting multiple classified contracts.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role
  • Document control encompassing receiving documents, taking them into accountability, destroying documents and shipping documents in accordance with the latest government regulations.
  • Execute and adhere to regulations found in DoD 32 CFR, Part 117.
  • Responsible for briefing and debriefing cleared employees.
  • COMSEC custodian responsible for receiving & shipping items and tracking assets in accordance with established procedures. Responsible for dealing with internal and external customers
  • Responsible for the storage area and accountability of Arms Ammunition and Explosives (AA&E), to include receiving and distributing AA&E items.
  • Responsible for changing combinations in rooms and areas.
  • Responsible for answering alarms after hours within a specified time frame and engaging with service provider.
  • Review, coordinate, update and communicate revisions to security program governance documentation e.g. policies, procedures, and Standard Practice (SP) manuals.
  • Maintain an accurate accounting of GDLS personnel in the Department of Defense security clearance system of record.
  • Responsible for entering visit requests on behalf of internal customers.
  • Support security clearance process for internal employee population in the government system of record.
  • Advise personnel of their reporting requirements, both personal/administrative and compliance/incident-related as required in DoD 32 CFR, Part 117.
  • Process visit authorizations for personnel assigned to contracts that require cleared access.
  • Support Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) reverification
  • Support onboarding & off boarding employees
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications Sought
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred but relevant experience in an Industrial Security environment will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 1 - 3 years' relevant experience
  • Experience working in organizations adhering to regulations found in DoD 32 CFR, Part 117
  • Already possess or eligible to obtain a US security clearance at the TS level. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible)
  • Experience working in military environments or as a DoD contractor will be a plus.
  • Attention to detail will be critical for the position.
  • Be passionate about Industrial, Physical, and Global Security missions.
  • Adherence to schedules and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and accomplish tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite & ability to learn relevant other software programs.
  • Familiarity with SIMS security software preferred.
  • Ability to respond to alarms after hours at the facility within a specified time frame.

  • The Security Associate typically works in an office environment with regular visits to manufacturing areas and warehouses. Visits to manufacturing areas require the ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs, as well as potentially lift 40 pounds.
