The City of Hillsboro is growing, and so is our Information Services (IS) Department! We are looking for an Information Services Supervisor to help lead our expanding support team and shape the future of IS service delivery. About the Role: As one of three Information Services Supervisors, you will oversee a team dedicated to managing the City's desktops, laptops, mobile devices, servers, virtualization platforms and key systems, such as Microsoft System Center. You'll be instrumental in ensuring our technology infrastructure runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of 5-8 computer support specialists and network administrators.
  • Oversee patch management for desktops, laptops, servers, and mobile devices to ensure security and stability.
  • Develop procedures aligned with cybersecurity policies, ensuring consistent support and adherence to security standards.
  • Manage system inventory, coordinate replacement cycles, and integrate with ServiceNow for efficient service management.
  • Utilize existing monitoring tools to ensure maximum system uptime and performance.
  • Oversee the management, design and maintenance of the virtual server environment.
  • Collaborate with the Computer Support and Infrastructure Support supervisors to provide seamless support to City staff.

Current Projects You'll Oversee:
  • NetMotion Upgrade
  • Police K9 Tactical Camera Project
  • Security Cameras Installation at Fire Stations
  • Development of policies, standards and procedures for the cybersecurity program
  • Integrate technical assets into ServiceNow and develop a system replacement roadmap

What We're Looking For: We are seeking candidates with hands-on experience managing a team responsible for end-user and system support in a Microsoft Windows environment. Strong knowledge of Windows 10 & 11, Microsoft Server 2019/2022, virtualization, Office 365, patch management, Active Directory, network system backup and recovery and system administration is key.

Ideal candidates will also bring:
  • Project management experience: Overseeing technology deployments and system upgrades.
  • Team leadership: Guiding and developing technical support teams.
  • Inventory management: Tracking and managing IT assets effectively.

Acceptable Experience and Training
  • Education: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Certifications:
    • Valid Driver's License and safe driving record.
    • Law Enforcement Database System (LEDS) Certification (within 12 months of hire).
    • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation.
